What is Paracord?

Original Paracord is a nylon cord that consists of a core of threads in a woven nylon jacket. Due to the popularity of the paracord, there arenow many variants available. The majority of paracord users, like me, prefer nylon. The main reason is that nylon feels more natural than the more plastic polyester. Also nylon paracord is more elastic, this is experienced as pleasant by knotters and is user friendly. Paracord, or parachute cord, is a strong cord that consists of a core of wires in a core mantle. The cord used in this collar is 550 paracord. A single cord has a breaking force of 250KG! This is of course extremely suitable for a dog collar or dog line.
The collar and line can be washed at 30 degrees in the washing machine. In order not to damage the washing machine it is wise to put a sturdy bag or pillowcase around it.
The word paracord comes from the use by American parachutists during the Second World War. After a parachute landing, the rope of the parachute was cut off and used for all kinds of applications. Like other materials from the army, paracord has since been highly appreciated for general use. Initially, it was mainly veterans who tied bracelets together. Then it was also used by outdoor athletes, hobbyists and an ever-growing group of paracord-knoters. These bracelets or bracelets are now a huge hype in America. You can also see them more and more in Europe and the Netherlands.
